“Black Iris” is an independent film for the Telefilm Talent to Watch Program. Written & Directed by Ryan Northcott (“Mystery, Alaska”, “The Beach Boys: An American Family”, “Wynonna Earp”) the film is a drama centred around the love story between James and Sarah. James, who is rendered blind in tragic and heroic fashion, meets Sarah who becomes James’ caregiver. As Sarah guides James to independence and they become closer and closer to falling in love, Sarah’s past demons come to the surface. James must overcome his mental and physical state to get back to the life he once knew while helping Sarah overcome her demons.
